Mark,

First of all I don't have a car repair question.  I want relate a quick story about my dealings with Ford.  I have a 2002 Ford Explorer.  I have been having some transmission problems lately so I left it with _____ Ford for a couple of days to see what the problem may be.  In a nutshell there was a delay when I put it in gear and when it did go into gear there was a solid thunk.  _____ Ford service decided that I needed a minor overhaul to the tune of $1,800.00 and as high as $3,800.00 dollars if they found anything really bad inside.

Rather than say "fix it" my wife and I decided to use your website to find a reputable transmission company to get a second opinion.  I have done business with Quality Transmissions in Tempe before and was pleased to see them listed as one of your recommended shops.  The people there were very professional and actually correctly diagnosed the problem which turned out to be electrical, not mechanical and the price was less than $1,000.00.  I am happily back in my Explorer and it shifts nicely and I would like to thank you and Quality Transmissions for helping me find a reasonable alternative to being at the mercy of the dealer.

Sincerely,

Larry W

Quality Transmission has repaired my 1990 Suburban without a flaw; but the integrity and honesty of my latest transaction brings gladness to my soul... and ease to my son's wallet.

After spending two (12) hour days trying to repair my son's college transportation, we completed the transmission removal-repair-reinstall... to the sounds of an intermittent knock.  Frustrated, confused, and without understanding the possible problems with the repair job we just completed, QTS acted on the behave of the customer.  QTS could have had us over a barrel and taken advantage of our ignorance, but honesty, integrity prevailed...to the sum of $56.97 service charge.  Needless to say, they saved a starving college student many hours of working in the local dry cleaners...by re-tightening four torque converter bolts...that we didn't get completed properly...due to the shifting true position of the torque converter into the flexplate...

problems

Thank you from Ty XXXXX 5/12/10 to Quality Transmission Service

I wanted to quickly take the time to thank you for your service.  Steve and the technician that worked on my car were wonderful to work with and proved to be honest as well which is incredibly hard to find in transmission shops in particular due to the very high complexity of these devices.  I normally do all related work myself except when it comes to automatic transmissions, so to find one that is honest is extremely important to me in particular.

I first took my 2008 Saturn Vue to XXXX a few weeks ago.  They took it for a test drive and said they did not see any error codes from the computer for the engine or transmission so they fold me they would need to tear the transmission apart to find the problem and the total cost would be somewhere between $1600 and $2300, but they couldn't say until they have disassembled the transmission completely (leaving me with no other option than to believe what they were saying and coff up the cash.).

I did some searching online and found your website and was instantly impressed with the customer feedback and the statement the "4 out of 5 jobs we do are minor and the transmissions do not need to be overhauled."  I also checked your BB rating of A+ and noticed not one single complaint in the past 3 years... amazing.

Needless to say that when your technician found my pressure solenoid to be broken (after first noticing some pressure anomalies from the computer) and that the car drives fine after replacement I was completely convinced by your company's honesty, integrity, and capabilities.  Your company has my highest respect and admiration.

Thanks again,

Ty

Today you mentioned the vehicles that did not charge the shops for internet technical assistance. I'm going to buy a new or slightly used SUV. Which of those manufacturers do you like the best from a reliability and service viewpoint. Also, my 88 Toyota 4X4 (bought new) V-6, indicated it was in 4 wheel drive on the dash. The hubs were free, but the forward drive shaft was turning. I took it to Quality Transmission. Steve called me 30 minutes later. It was just a nut somewhere on the linkage. No Charge. I love those guys! I've used them in the past, and I recommend them to everyone.

Thanks

Morning Mark,

The guys at Quality Transmission were great and the workmanship was outstanding.  Thanks for the recommendation.

Now I'm looking for another recommendation, for alignment work.  My son hit a curb with his small truck and now the camber is way off.  Can you
recommend anyone for this task?

-Thanks,
Ray

A Cyber Compliment to Quality Transmission Service

You are the best.  I was very afraid of the cost & aggravation of a transmission repair before I came to you.  You did the work properly & at the right price!  It has been a year since the repair, & one thing I don't worry about is the transmission!  I can only say this - It was a pleasure giving my hard earned money to you, since you earned it the same way - honestly!!!  Your shop has my HIGHEST recommendation!!!  THANK YOU!!!

repairs Fear is a terrible Thing:

The day I noticed transmission fluid in my drive way, I got scared! I don’t do a lot of work on cars but I knew the fluid could equate to a “big ticket item”. It needed to be fixed but where? I scoured the Internet looking for information and clues that would lead me to the best solution for fixing the leak. I read Horror story after Horror story about Aamco, Cottman and a few others.  I ran across the Quality web site and did an extensive search on them. I found nothing that led me to believe they were just another Horror story waiting to happen so, I took my Riviera there.

I am so glad I did. It turned out that there was nothing wrong other than the pan needed a gasket replaced. The guys at Quality did not try to up-sell me a new transmission or this or that stuff I just didn’t need. They just did repairs that were needed. These guys were honest and fair with me and did not pad the bill with a lot of stuff that they ‘really didn’t do’ (like those other rip-off guys).

From this day forward, Quality Transmission will get all my tranny business and if I have any say in the matter, they will also get business from all my family and friends..

Thanks guys for being honest and taking good care of my car.

Your Friend, Rick N

Ps. For others of you who fear as I did, I recommend you try these guys.

I did some research on the Internet and also talked with Bob Jones at Quality Transmission in person before deciding to use them. They looked like a reputable company and, while they were not the least expensive, I felt that Quality Transmission was the best place to take my truck to get the work done and get it done correctly.

They replaced the transmission in my truck with another transmission and did exactly what they said they were going to do. In my particular case, I needed someone who knew how to put a transmission in a truck that pulls a trailer. The guys at Quality Transmission knew more about what I was trying to do than any other company I talked to.

With Quality Transmission, they give you straight answers about what they can and cannot do. They are trustworthy, ethical, and experienced. The mechanics have been there a long time and they have done quite a bit of teaching as far as educating other mechanics in the transmission field. You will not find the experience that they have anywhere else.

Quality Transmission was referred to me by a friend and I used their service to repair my transmission. They were very good and helpful, explaining everything that they were going to do, starting with the least expensive option, which I appreciated.

They were quick, so I was not waiting around for a long time. They did not give me one price and then end up charging me double what they said it would be. Instead, they told me clearly what the price range for the job would be, depending on the work that they had to do. They were friendly and I did not feel as if they were taking advantage of me.

"Good Evening,
I needed a transmission filter change on my 2005 Duramax with an Allison transmission.  I called _________ Chevrolet and _______ to get pricing on the job and both of them told me they wanted $245.  I thought this price was out of line, but Irealized I didn't have any idea where to take it.  I remembered you had a list of recommended repair shops so I called both Quality Transmission Service and _________ Transmission and they both quoted me approximately $145.  I chose Quality for some reason but I was still concerned because I was unable to take care of this myself due to the fact I work out of town.  My wife and son took care of the service today and everything went perfect.  My wife said the person she talked to her was pleasant and did not talk down to her.  This is something she had experienced before.  She said the person she talked to went out of their way to make sure she knew that if someone wanted her to do a tranny flush she should not do it.  I can't tell you how happy I am with this company and your recommendations on your website.  Thanks for providing this service."
